- Love and respect animals, have skills to walk dogs in public places, and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Understand basic pet behavior and demonstrate ability to manage pets safely and effectively
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, ability to navigate efficiently, and transport pets safely
- Demonstrate ability to react calmly and appropriately in any level of emergency
- Complete all necessary reporting and documentation per company standards
- Basic smart phone and computer skills (text, email, apps, photography, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well in a team environment and independently
- Flexibility to accommodate schedule and assignment changes and support team members
- Dependable and punctual for assignments
- Occasional overnight, weekend, and holiday work
- Assist with phone calls, emails, and website updates as needed
- Support the setup and smooth implementation of new pet sitter software
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategy
- Creativity, strong communication skills, and an understanding of social media trends
- High School diploma required. Some college preferred
- Ability to obtain Pet First Aid & CPCR Certificate during training required
- Experience caring for pets is required
- Job experience or education related to animal care is a plus
- Reach addresses in service area within 20 min
- Lift up to 40 lbs and capable of controlling/manipulating a dog up to 120lbs
- Visually inspect pets in your care and detect animal noises, such as distress whining
- Moderate strenuous physical activity, exposure to outdoor elements, and concentration
- Ability to assess situations accurately and respond quickly
- No barriers or aversions to touching, smelling, or being in close proximity with animals, including sensitivity to pet dander, feathers, urine, feces, or any other animal feature
- Starts at $15.50 per hour + mileage reimbursement + cell phone use reimbursement + 100% tips
