I can’t believe I was away an entire month AND it’s already been a week since I got back to NJ AND March is just around the corner! I’m not gonna lie…it’s very bittersweet leaving my Costa Rican home, but I’m grateful for my trusted routines and your adorable pets to beat the homesickness.

Here’s a little recap of what I was up to during my vacation:

• Of course, beach trips with my dogs (Dulce & Bambi), family, and friends
• Hikes, watch sunrises and sunsets, garden, read, lounge by the pool, play board games, and workout
• Dog park visits to socialize my pups
• [Trying to] train my dogs not to pull on the leash & other unfavorable manners they’ve picked up in my absence
• A last-minute doggy birthday party for Dulce’s pups who turned 1…yes we even got them a pet-safe cake that they devoured!
• LOTS of gallo pinto for breakfast and other delicious homemade meals

One thing I did NOT do is work enough on some behind-the-scenes projects…but I suppose that’s the point of a vacation (ahem, to actually take time off of work and be present with loves ones!).

This brings me to the elephant in the room I want to address: the January 1st email where I promised to send monthly emails with loads of info. I realize it’s been over a month and you’ve gotten approximately zero (0) new emails from me.

Maybe you read that first email and know what I’m talking about, maybe you didn’t and have no idea or haven’t given it any thought. That’s not the point. It has been on my mind and I still fully intend to keep this promise, if even to myself, because education and training are a huge focus and goal of mine for 2024 (more updates on this to come).

I’ll admit there was a hiccup I encountered: I didn’t realize I needed to have the right tools (i.e. an email service provider) in place BEFORE setting that expectation. And that’s on me. Lesson learned!

The good news is you are now receiving this through my [trial] email service provider and I’m happy to report so far so good. I look forward to sending you more of these in the near future and I hope you do too!
